Botanical Tile Bathroom for Notting Hill house

We are delighted to have completed a bathroom of Botanical Tiles for a residence in London’s Notting Hill. The project, part of a renovation of a modernist house by architects Michaelis Boyd, will serve as home for a couple who are avid design collectors and advocates of craft.

Covering all four walls of the main bathroom the design depicts a composition of weeds foraged from London pavements and alleys. The pattern, which has a broken symmetry, wraps around the room and was designed to accommodate room for a wash basin and WC. When entering the bathroom at the end of a bright white corridor, the effect created is total submersion in deep Prussian blue glaze.
