Spring Harvest!
It’s sprung! And over the weekend we started the first of our Spring harvests. Setting out with our flower presses and weed pullers we set out on foot, heading north from the studio, following the route of the old Hornsey railway line (now decommissioned) up to Highgate which rewards with great views over the City.
This time of year is perhaps the most important harvest we’ll make as the spring shoots are fresh and delicate (later in the year plants tend to be larger, thicker, and generally more stubborn which makes them a little tougher to press). We returned to the studio with an abundance of botanical characters that now leave our presses full and heaving under the strain. After two weeks they will be ready to use. Until then, we wait.
